Learning how to use the GTBuy spreadsheet is the single most impactful skill a new reseller can develop. In this guide, I will walk you through every step from blank template to fully operational profit dashboard.
Step 1: Choose the Right Template
Before you enter a single number, pick a template that matches your volume. If you handle fewer than fifty items per month, use the Simple Profit Tracker. If you are between fifty and two hundred, upgrade to the Full Inventory Manager. Browse our free templates to find your fit.
Step 2: Understand the Column Structure
Every GTBuy spreadsheet shares a common DNA. Here is what each column means and why it matters.
- Item Name: The exact product title from oocbuy.com
- Category: Shoes, Hoodies, T-Shirts, etc. Used for filtering
- Cost: The price you pay the supplier per unit
- Shipping: Estimated or actual shipping cost per item
- Total Cost: Auto-calculated (Cost + Shipping)
- Resale Price: Your target selling price
- Profit: Auto-calculated (Resale - Total Cost)
- Margin %: Auto-calculated profit percentage
- Status: Ordered, Shipped, Received, Listed, Sold
Step 3: Populate Your First Batch
Open oocbuy.com in one browser tab and your spreadsheet in another. For each item you want to buy, copy the product name and paste it into the Item Name column. Select the category from the drop-down. Enter your negotiated cost and estimated shipping. The sheet does the rest.
Step 4: Set Profit Thresholds
Here is where the GTBuy spreadsheet pays for itself. Sort by the Margin % column in descending order. Any item below 25% margin should be reconsidered. Items above 50% margin are your priorities. This single sort prevents you from tying up cash in low-margin inventory.
Step 5: Update Statuses Religiously
The Status column is your cash-flow compass. Items marked "Ordered" represent money you have spent but not received. "Received" items are ready to list. "Sold" items are pure profit data. Update these statuses the same day the event happens, not at week end.
